Earth-616 is the reality designation of the mainstream Marvel Universe. Nearly all of Marvel's 70+ year comic book history takes place in this reality. Most of the characters and settings that readers of Marvel Comics are familiar with are indiginous to this reality including, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Captain America, the X-Men and a hoary host of horror-themed characters such as Dracula, the Man-Thing, Werewolf by Night and many more.

- Examples of comic settings that do not take place within Earth-616 continuity include the Ultimate titles, stories published in the various What If...? titles, the Marvel Zombies franchise, the 2099 universe as well as any external media, such as film and television programs based on Marvel Comics properties.
