"The Coming of... Dr. Strange" is the premiere issue of the first Doctor Strange ongoing series. It continues the numbering sequence from the discontinued Strange Tales. It was written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Dan Adkins with lettering chores provided by Art Simek. It was published with a June, 1968 cover date. This issue presents the origin of Doctor Stephen Strange and follows his journey from being an arrogant surgeon to becoming the Master of the Mystic Arts under the tutelage of the Ancient One. Strange is not the Ancient One's only student however. The ambitious and amoral Baron Mordo also covets the wizened mage's ancient knowledge.
