Baron Karl Amadeus Mordo is a fictional sorcerer and the arch-nemesis to Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange. He was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko and introduced in the pages of Strange Tales, Volume 1 #111, cover dated August, 1963. He is considered the ultimate evil wizard of the Marvel Universe and possesses power that is sufficient to give Doctor Strange a run for his money with each and every encounter.

  • Baron Mordo's profile was featured in The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Deluxe Edition #1, page 61; illustration by Paul Smith. The character also appeared on the back cover, which was illustrated by John Byrne and Joe Rubinstein.
  • As the arch-nemesis of Doctor Strange, Baron Mordo was chosen to represent the counterpart to his foe in the Collector's Offenders in opposition to the superhero team, the Defenders. [5]
